WHOO HOOO! The Kings have advanced to the next round in the playoffs!!! They just beat Dallas, 119-118, and boy, was that nerve-wracking!
I'm referring to basketball, in case any of you haven't been around when I've been jabbering on about the Sacramento Kings. I am not a fan of purple, but for some strange reason, it doesn't look so bad when the Kings are involved. In fact, this deep purple nail polish works quite well on my toenails...
To the person who is apparently making money by stealing my words that are copyrighted: If the New York Times and USA Today are not invincible, neither are you. You may work for a big-time newspaper and I may work for a small one, but wrong is wrong. And I don't care who you are.
There are some stories that us reporters just really enjoy writing. This one was such a story. I spent parts of two days watching a film crew recreate a 13-year-old murder that was not so different from the Scott Peterson case.
It was just a fun thing to do in every aspect. Watching the film crew was fascinating, and it was interesting to talk to the actors. I learned more about the case, I laughed at confused passers-by and then I got to write about the whole thing. And I even squeezed in the fact that the prosecutor did his interview a day before he left for Bali.
You know something is strange with the world when the Dodgers adopt a superstition that means they must listen to William Hung's CD in order to win a baseball game.
For those who have been hiding under a rock and missing out on the sensation known as American Idol, William Hung is a truly bad singer who was kicked off the show. I mean, who would keep someone who does a bad version of a Ricky Martin song? I don't see how it could get any worse.
But the cheerful Berkeley engineering student has become a hit and has sold more than 30,000 albums. I'm trying to figure out how this will be topped, but I'm coming up blank.
An old classmate of mine was just arrested for murder. Now I kind of know how Sarah Dutra's classmates felt, and it's such a strange, weird feeling. I remember riding the bus with her, and I can remember her house just as if it were yesterday. I can't quite grasp this.
Many of my friends and readers know that I hate bats. They terrify me. They freak me out. They should not be allowed to reproduce. Some people say, "Aww, but they're so cute." I say, "Um, NO." I offer you further proof in this article.
Go home, Dallas
