"7TH HEAVEN" & "ROSWELL" IN THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT, GIVING THE WB ANOTHER OUTSTANDING MONDAY

"7TH HEAVEN" RANKS #1 IN ITS TIME PERIOD IN PERSONS & WOMEN 12-34 AND #2 IN WOMEN 18-34 & WOMEN 18-49

Family Drama Is Up +108% Year-To-Year In Adults 18-34


BURBANK, CA (December 19, 2000) - 7TH HEAVEN continues to excel during original episodes. The Christmas installment of The WB's highest-rated show ranked #1 in its time period in persons 12-34 (3.9) and women 12-34 (5.1), defeating King of Queens and Yes Dear on CBS, Boston Public on FOX, Titans on NBC and 20/20 Downtown on ABC. The family drama tied for #2 in the hour in both women 18-34 (3.6) and women 18-49 (3.9), and was the top-rated program for the night among teens (7.1), female teens (9.1) and male teens (5.2), setting a season high in that demographic despite tough competition from Monday Night Football. The show ranked #3 ahead of Boston Public and Titans in total viewers, averaging more than 8 million viewers and in households (5.1) to improve +59% and + 50% respectively versus the same night a year ago.

7TH HEAVEN also achieved outstanding growth versus the equivalent Monday a year ago across every key demo. The program scored triple-digit year-to-year growth among adults 18-34 (2.7, +108%) and women 18-34 (3.6, +125%), and also posted impressive increases among persons 12-34 (3.9, +95%), women 12-34 (5.1, +96%), men 12-34 (2.7, +93%), men 18-34 (1.7, +70%), adults 18-49 (2.9, +81%), women 18-49 (3.9, +86%) and men 18-49 (1.9, +73%).

ROSWELL's holiday episode, "A Roswell Christmas Carol," also secured gains over the parallel Monday time period a year ago, with particularly impressive growth in women 18-49 (2.3, +92%), adults 18-49 (1.7, +70%) and women 18-49 (2.3, +109%). The sci-fi drama was also up over last year in persons 12-34 (2.0, +18%), women 12-34 (2.8, +27%), adults 18-34 (1.5, +36%) and men 18-49 (1.1, +22%).

Roswell topped Dateline NBC in both persons 12-34 (2.0 vs. 1.8) and women 12-34 (2.8 vs. 2.3), and ranked #1 in its time period among female teens (4.2).

For the night, The WB, continued to show growth over last season across every key demo. The Monday night line-up posted impressive gains in adults 18-34 (2.1, +75%), women 18-34 (2.9, +107%), men 18-34 (1.2, +20%), adults 18-49 (2.3, +77%), women 18-49 (3.1, +94%), men 18-49 (1.5, +50%), persons 12-34 (2.9, +61%), women 12-34 (3.9, +63%) and men 12-34 (1.9, +46%). The drama line-up ranked #3 for the night in women 12-34 (3.9/10), and finished #1 for the night in both teens (5.2/16) and female teens (6.7/19).
