It's...
• ...definitely a Dreamer's fantasy. The customs inspector looks like Liz.
• ...reminiscent of that Dentine commercial frequently shown during Roswell that looked like it was on Liz's balcony. (How many of us restarted the VCR when it came on, thinking that we were back from the commercial break? )
  And while we're segueying, let's not forget the significance of TicTacs, more than just another breath mint to Roswellians.
• ...reminiscent of the White Room ep. It's even prophetic of increased security inspections post 9-11.

This is definitely Season One Max, when he was the heart throb of millions, having not yet fallen from grace. Did TPTB tarnish the halo of "Saint Max" in Seasons 2 & 3 to prove his human-ness, or was it to make the actor less desirable so he could live and walk and breathe again in public without being attacked by crazed females?

According to data last viewed November 2003 on the Internet Movie Database (imdb.com), the Cloralit gum commercial was titled "Body Search" and was produced by Great Guns, airing "all over Europe."

The Italian in the commercial is:

Chloralit quell'irresistibile freschezza a prova di bacio.

Which in English is:

Chloralit for that irresistible kiss-proof freshness.

A note about my "PG rating" of this commercial:
Including this commercial in the archives was and is a difficult choice. I started watching Roswell after having not owned a television for 30 years, and naively thought Liz & Max would just continue to cast longing looks at one another and never actually kiss. But this is no longer the '60s, and even Jeannie kissed Major Nelson back then. Though thousands of R and NC17 fanfics have been written about the Roswell characters, and though Melinda Metz books contain quite a bit of teen hormones, you will find nothing steamier on this site than the breathe mint commercial. Though I am now the sole webmaster for this site, I am sure Qfanny would concur with my decision.
